MMDA to implement 5-day truck holiday during papal visit

Sorry guys, we all know that everything is too delayed from all the truck ban and holiday rush since last year but all importers really can’t do anything as we are all using the same Manila port.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will implement a five-day truck ban in the metropolis during the visit of Pope Francis, state-run Philippines News Agency reported Tuesday.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said truck operators agreed to the truck holiday after meeting with MMDA assistant general manager for operations Emerson Carlos.

“They favored the appeal because it would be impractical to deliver during that time,” the PNA quoted Tolentino as saying.

He said this should help ease traffic in Metro Manila during the Pope’s visit from Jan. 15 to 19. — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
